Staffing Coordinator

Reports to: Location Director

This Staffing Coordinator position serves as a consultant to both management and employees on scheduling and recruiting related issues. The successful Staffing Coordinator acts as a resource and advisor to employees and managers.  The role listens, advises, and reports on staffing issues to the Location Director. Communicating needs proactively to the team, the Staffing Coordinator works with the Leadership Team to develop and champion integrated solutions. The Staffing Coordinator maintains an effective level of staffing expertise, as well as business literacy and knowledge about Aveanna’s culture and its competition.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates staffing needs according to branch location guidelines
  • Coordinate orientation and training scheduling
  • Coordinate work schedules by allocating employees in shifts and positions
  • Coordinate shift back-fill activities in the event of caregiver tardiness or absences 
  • Be primary point of contact with patient family regarding staffing schedules
  • Maintain excellent rapport with clients and caregivers and effectively promote harmonious interpersonal relationships

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Prolonged sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand


This position has no travel responsibilities

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One (1) years previous work experience
  • Must be able to work after hours on-call schedule
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficient typing skills

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Six (6) months previous agency staffing or recruiting experience
  • Healthcare experience
