Collections Manager

Reports to: Vice President, Reimbursement Services

The Collections Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient management of the Aveanna Collections / Reimbursement department. This individual supervises the activities of the Collections Supervisor and team. The Collections Manager maintains an effective level of Account Collection expertise, as well as business literacy and knowledge about Aveanna’s culture and its competition.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and resolve escalated payer issues as needed
  • Supervise, train, coach and develop Collections team; hold weekly account review meetings with each team member
  • Conduct Quality Assurance on Collections tasks
  • Work with team to resolve denial issues, non-payment of invoices, and portfolios
  • Perform month end reconciliation, and assist other departments as needed
  • Report Reimbursement trends and Analysis to operational Leadership as appropriate
  • Complies with and adheres to all regulatory compliance areas, policies and procedures

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities over Collections Supervisors and Cash Posting Specialist, and has accountability for the performance of the overall Collections Team.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.


No travel responsibilities.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in related field; healthcare, medical office, customer service preferred
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience leading a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Strong math and accounting skills; critical thinking and problem solving skills required
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage in a high call volume environment with accuracy and efficiency
  • Proven ability to work independently at times and within a team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with other departments and teams
  • Ability to act with Aveanna’s Vision and Values of Team, Accountability, Aggressive Improvements, and Delivering Excellence
