Job Summary:

Using reports, tools and other resources provided by Aveanna, the successful candidate in this position is responsible for the accurate posting of cash receipts to the company's accounts receivable records.This includes payment for all primary, secondary, tertiary or any other payor including guarantors. This is inclusive of payments received from commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and private accounts.

Scope of Supervision:


Key Results Expected (Essential Job Duties):

  • Responsible for overseeing day to day duties of cash application specialists.
  • From the Suntrust Bank portal, the EFT file and lockbox is downloaded and 835 files are processed from the EFT and lockbox  spreadsheet. 
  • Works with Centralized Billers, Collectors, and Cash Applications Specialists to ensure payments are applied accurately.
  • Assist with month end close.
  • Processed and Applied Cash Transfer.
  • Train, provide guidance, monitor and answer questions for new and existing cash apps employees.
  • Responsible for properly logging completed cash batches by cash apps specialists.
  • Responsible for understanding and appropriately applying recoupments from payors.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
  • Understands and cash applications and enforces business rules and SOX 404 controls.
  • Apply Cash and Denials as needed.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain records and perform data entry.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • One year related experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with computers, calculators, 10-key, and other basic office equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform movements that regularly require repetitive use of the wrist(s), hand(s) and or finger(s) approximately 80-90% of the workday.
  • Finger dexterity to perform typing, picking up small objects, etc. approximately 80-90% of workday.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate instructions or other information as required approximately 80-90% of workday.
  • Must have adequate visual abilities to prepare, inspect documents or operate office machinery approximately 100% of workday.
  • Must be able to exert physical strength and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and/or frequently up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to hear average or normal tone conversations and understand/interpret noises or spoken information.
  • Must be able to bend, turn/twist, kneel and squat 30-40% of each workday.
