The Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for performing accurate and timely close responsibilities over revenue cycle functions including journal entries, analysis and account reconciliations. The role will support accounting, finance, and revenue cycle departments as needed by providing recurring and ad hoc analysis. This individual will be required to provide input to and participate in various projects as assigned.
Reconcile system generated month-end close journal entries using billing systems data.
Record monthly journal entries in Workday for additional entries related to revenue accruals, accounts receivable reconciliations, and AR reserve calculations.
Resolve any reconciling items identified in account reconciliations.
Seek opportunities to improve automation and standardization of recurring processes.
Prepare account reconciliations, analyze aging trends, identify and follow-up on identified operating metrics anomalies related to the revenue cycle.
Manipulate, analyze, summarize large amounts of transaction data using pivot tables, vlookup, and other excel functions.
Use other advanced analytical tools and machine learning to identify key data insights around the revenue cycle.
Respond to audit inquiries in a timely manner; liaise with auditors and responsible revenue cycle team members about audit inquiries.
Ensure compliance with GAAP.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle systems, deep understanding of revenue cycle process flow and financial analysis
General Ledger accounting background
Strong excel skills required
Working knowledge of advanced Qlik or other data mining and data visualization tools preferred
Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical office hours. Extended working hours will be required one day during each month-end close to run monthly reports. This position sometimes requires additional extended hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.
